Disappointing but not surprising. Obviously the thing to do when someone suggests you have bias against a viewpoint is to threaten to beat his face, say his memo should be printed off and burned, and fire him for violating your code of conduct. That'll show him how open to ideas you are!

Remember when google de-indexed Vault-Co one year ago? I remember.

This has been brewing for some time now, in addition with the recent jordan peterson shenanigans etc etc, and Trump hehe.

I can't think of anything more dangerous to the fabric of society than a Canadian liberal arts professor reinterpreting Bible stories through a Jungian lens. This is a clear case of yelling FIRE in a crowded theater, free speech isn't hate speech, etc.

Here's what I found the most interesting. Google's CEO included this statement in his response:

That threw me off a bit. Where in his memo did the employee claim that any Google employees had traits making them less suitable to technical work? I might have read it incorrectly, but it seems to me that his thesis was that women, on average, tend to have traits making them less suitable for technical work, and that this can't be construed to mean anything about the specific women who work at Google. In fact, he repeated that "on average" qualifier many more times than he should have had to to get it through the reader's thick skulls (and yet it still didn't work).

The impression I got was that he was offering an explanation for why there are more men than woman at Google, and why efforts to make women equally represented would lead to unsuitable employees being hired. Maybe the women who currently work at Google are not cooperative and do not prefer emotions and people over things, but finding enough women who fit the bill would be impossible if the goal was equal representation. I think that's a plausible interpretation. Most people who have responded to the text, including many Google employees and the CEO, are putting words in his mouth that he did not say. Either they are being disingenuous ("I don't like what he said, so I'm going to pretend he said something worse that he did to silence him"), or they lack basic reading comprehension skills. It's a little surprising to me that they made it this far. I thought you had to be smart to work at Google.

I think the normal heuristic is to not attribute to malice what can be explained by incompetence, which in this case would make insufficient reading comprehension skills the reason for this blogger being misinterpreted. However, I think in this case intellectual dishonesty is the culprit, since smart people should be able to easily grasp what he is saying.

If part of your job involves not understanding certain basic facts about reality, you will eventually get good at not noticing them. Smart people are even better than dumb people at being stupid on purpose.

The way I model it is that your unconscious figures out all the important things you're not allowed to think about... then your conscious mind suddenly experiences 100% sincere emotional reactions and lines of thought... that just happen to be completely self-serving.

Scott Adams would say the cognitive dissonance forces them to hallucinate a strawman.

And that's a good thing too, because modern academia couldn't survive any more such discoveries.

I swear i'll never link "cosmopolitan" again, but its a good example of the total opposite:
FaceApp Ethnicity Filters Make You Look Like a Different Race | http://www.cosmopolitan.com/lifestyle/a11660672/faceapp-ethnicity-filters-blackface/ this is how nu-google is reasoning at the moment

Again, the ooga booga algorithm is very real, it is even better than Pi. I feel that the ooga booga algorithm is what the "google-team" stumbled upon and had to shut down quick as all hell, with the memo and all. Don't forget Trump taking 17 days off and Grimoire being released, all at the same time... This is really big if true, how will the sapes recover from this?
I'm not sure they even can at this point, "diversity" has really exhausted itself, proving shockingly enough that it doesn't work at all and will ruin any society.

This is the end of google, even if their reputation recovers the affmirative action intelligentsia working there now will be shure to crash it anyways. If google falls then facebook falls, then something new will replace the current giants.

Google management is objectively full of shit and they have the data that proves it. This is pretty basic stuff but I guess they don't teach anything in college except how to be a complete liberal moron. James is right and Google knows it.

We can only hope that Facebook self destructs when people realize that, like Google, they censor and shape algorithmically what people see in order to perpetuate their failed liberal narrative.

Fired Google memo writer gives first big interviews to rightwing YouTubers | https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/aug/09/james-damore-google-memo-youtube-interviews says everything you need to know about who has the power in society, those childless single men who masturbate to anime really are a force to be reckoned with.

"youtuber interviews something called a "newspaper". Another thing I forgot to mention was the Coincidence Detector appamajingthing for chrome, hehe. So thats the media, google and facebook going down at the same time, a strange cohencidence indeed.

    More like modern mankind...

" the most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... we live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far."

It has come to light that Damore included this image in his original memo:

The text should have been enough to get this message across, but he correctly anticipated that most people would need a little visual aid to grasp the distinction between population averages and blanket statements about a group, so he included this handy chart that seems like it would do a great job of clearing up any confusion.

But wait, the first public posting of the memo (and the one that most people, myself included, read) looks a little different. Where is that chart? I don't see it. As it turns out, the journalist who wrote that article, Kate Conger, left the image out. She also omitted the many academic citations that Damore had included.

Recall that most of the criticism directed towards Damore boiled down to "it's wrong to make blanket statements about a group", and "citation needed!". In other words, most of the disagreements that people had with the memo, and the resulting vilification of Damore, were the result not of the actual content he posted, but of Ms. Conger's misrepresentation thereof. What Ms. Conger has done is pure evil. There is no other way to describe it. In my view, Conger and any other journalist who deliberately misleads the public for the purpose of sowing discord should be executed.

Most of the decent creators on YouTube have backup channels on other platforms, and they take donations. Facebook has been infiltrated by trolls with shooped IDs and FaceApped selfies. I don't know the ratio of normies to edgelords on each site, but finding non-normie-tier content isn't that hard. So far, the censors have underestimated the power of weaponized autism.

Search engines, youtubes, forums, facebooks, internet communites, blogs, browsers, are all wastelands without actual users. What was google before snapping up youtube? Another search engine leech? Google never created any content ever. They made it despite themselves and thanks to piggbybacking of actual content creators.
Now when they try to do something themselves, such as forced diversity and it doesn't work, they seem to snap back like an unhinged woman and start banning the people and "plug-ins" that made the platform popular in the first place.

Maybe this just dawned on them, that they are nothing more than parasites living off others labors, digital rent seekers? They are nothing more than an outlet for others and I guess that really hurts.
